We moved onto Asia this week, and learned about China. I recently changed our school schedule, so we are now just doing geography on Fridays. It ends up being about 30 minutes altogether. Below is what we did...
- We found China on our wall map.
- Looked up China in the Childrens World Atlas.
- Did the China page from a World Countries workbook that I bought in the $1 section at Target.
- Read some books about China.
- Colored the Chinese flag. (Jolanthe at Homeschool Creations has great geography printables.)
- "Stamped" (Chinese flag sticker) her passport.
- Colored in China on our black & white map. I use Lakeshore Learning's Write & Wipe desk map. I put this up on the wall in our school room where K can reach it.
- Watched Mulan II.
K really enjoyed learning about China. It was funny because she tried to relate everything we read or saw to Mulan (it is one of her favorite movies). We also ate lunch at Panda Express. :)
