Everyday seems like it ends up going differently, but this is how I want our days to go. First of all, I am far from being a morning person. Very far! My daughter is definitely a morning person, so that is a bit of a challenge since she is ready to go every morning. My son is more like me, a little groggy and squinty in the morning.
After I have had my coffee and the kids have had breakfast, we usually head upstairs to get dressed, etc. Then we do our calendar time, where we are learning the days of the week, months, and seasons. We listen to our song of the week and then do our read alouds. E usually roams around at this point, and finds something to play with. Once he is happy playing with something else I try to get in either phonics or math with K. If that doesn't happen then we do it in the afternoon when E is sleeping. We have a snack, and then do geography and our theme of the week (if it is Tuesday or Thursday). We have lunch, and then E goes down for his nap. Then K and I work on her math, phonics, reading, and science. This takes about 30 minutes usually. Then she gets free time in her room, and I get free time. Yay! There is usually time for drawing, art, and make believe thrown in throughout the day as well. So that is how I plan our days to go, and sometimes it actually happens.
